Abstract

|
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the convergence that resilience has on emotional intelligence, social support and psychological well-being in nursing students.
Methods : A survey was conducted with 233 nursing students at a college in S city. Data were collected from December 4 to 21, 2018, and analyzed with SPSS 21.0.
Results : The results of the study showed that emotional intelligence(3.65¡¾0.46), psychological well-being(3.74¡¾0.56) social support(4.06¡¾0.57) and resilience(3.79¡¾0.47) was respectively. Emotional intelligence was positively correlated with psychological well-being(r£½.76, p£¼.001), social support(r£½.52, p £¼.001), resilience(r£½.75, p£¼.001). Psychological well-being was positively correlated with social support(r £½.56, p£¼.001), resilience(r£½.81, p£¼.001). Social support was positively correlated with resilience(r£½.67, p £¼.001). Stepwise multiple regression analysis, factors affecting resilience were emotional intelligence(¥â£½.75, p £¼.001), psychological well-being(¥â£½.45, p£¼.001) and social support(¥â£½.38, p£½.001). The variable that had the highest impact was emotional intelligence and the explanation power of regression model was 74%(F£½ 24.56, p£¼.001).
Conclusion : It is necessary to develop effective programs to improve emotional intelligence and resilience.
